History of acting
- What is it and where did modern acting emanate from?
- Theater vs Film/TV
- Terminology: technique, intention, objective, beats, emotional life, moment before, etc.
- Basic questions an actor needs to ask: Who, What, Where, When, Why
- Creating the world, back story, environment, etc
Various Techniques
- Stanislavski
- Techniques derived from Stanislavski: Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler, Meisner
Film/TV in the Southeast
- Terminology for film/tv: marks, eyelines, sides, character breakdown, etc.
- Agents – what so they do?
- Casting – what is the process?
- How the business operates: LA/NY and why productions are in GA
Student films/shorts - SAG-AFTRA
Auditioning
- What is required?
- Actor’s Access – what is it and how does it work?
