Now is your chance to study with the man who not only has created his own Two Year Conservatory Program in Brooklyn, but who has also coached Sam Rockwell towards his Oscar Winning performance in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and Oscar Nominated performance in Vice. He has spent years coaching clients including Michelle Williams, Boyd Holbrook, Emmy Rossum, Sacha Baron Cohen, Chris Messina, Austin Butler, and Zac Efron.

In this 4 days intensive, we will explore bold choices, rich relationships, authentic inner lives, and full use of your imaginations. All of this should support your work to be lively, rich and free. Be prepared to work and play hard.

Session A - Intro To Meisner

Monday-Friday (skip Wed)

9:30am-1:30pm

The morning session will be an introduction to Meisner and how to ground yourself in some of the foundational skills of acting as outlined by Sanford Meisner. There are no prerequisites but you will be asked to prepare a monologue to work on over the four days. You must be memorized and ready to work. No exceptions.

Expectations for class for Session A:

  • Choose and prepare a 1 minute monologue from a play or tv/film. No longer than 1.5 minutes.
  • Send a PDF version of your monologue to info@dramainc.net. Include the full piece if you can.
  • Must be from a published work. No self-written or obscure works. No Shakespeare.
  • You must be fully memorized and ready to work on the first day. No exceptions.
  • You must work on the piece after each class with Terry’s notes.

Session B - Scene Work

Monday-Friday (skip Wed)

2:30pm-6:30pm

The second session will be the same as previous years: how to make your scene work better. Partners will be assigned four weeks before the workshop starts. Together, you and your partner will choose the material on which you want to work. This session is for advanced students. You must email your headshot and resume to info@dramainc.net to be approved into the workshop. You must be memorized and prepared to work. No exceptions.

Expectations for class for Session B:

  • Please choose a 10-15 minute scene from a play - no Shakespeare
  • Read the play fully and understand it
  • You will be off book and have the scene blocked out by the first day. This means:
    • You must have been rehearsing at least a week before the workshop and should rehearse after every class with Terry’s notes.
  • Appropriate costumes for the period
  • Appropriate dialect for the text
  • Basic furniture will be available
    • Any additional props and furniture needed for the scene are to be supplied by the actor and must be taken home each evening
  • You will work on your scene every class
    • Scheduled rehearsal must take place between each class for the duration of the week workshop.
  • Send a pdf of just your scene (as you will perform it with any edits) to info@dramainc.net. Include the full piece in a separate file if not from the Master List of plays.
  • You must be fully memorized and prepared to work on the first day. No exceptions.

If you are interested in enrolling, please send your headshot and resume to. info@dramainc.net.

What the email should include:

  • Your name, headshot, and resume.
  • What session you are interested in.

Prices:

$695 to attend and participate in one whole 4 day session (A or B)

$100 for an Individual Session Audit (One class in session A OR B)
